In the process of development, humans need education, through this process humans develop rapidly because the environment provides assistance in human development. The educational environment can be found at home, at school and in the community and the natural surroundings. Research method In general, the research method is defined as a scientific activity that is planned, structured, systematic, and has specific goals, both practical and theoretical. It is said to be a scientific activity because it is research with scientific and theoretical aspects. planned because research must be planned with due regard to time, funds and accessibility to places and data. The data source is the subject from which the research data was obtained. Based on the source, the data is divided into primary data which is the source of data obtained by the researcher from respondents through interviews with interviewees. Secondary data is data obtained by the researcher indirectly providing data to data collectors, for example through other people or documents.</span> <span lang="IN">The research results show that students choose to deepen their knowledge and hone their skills by continuing their education to a higher level, in this case tertiary institutions. The type of research used is classroom action research, with the research subject being a grade I student totaling 27 students. This research was carried out in the form of cycles, and each cycle consisted of 4 stages, namely the planning stage, the implementation stage, the observation, and the reflection stages. This research shows that students’ reading ability in Indonesian language subjects is still in the low category. This is indicated by the low reading ability of students at the time of the initial observation reaching 37.03% with capable criteria, and the reading ability of students in cycle I of 62.96% in capable criteria with a fairly good category, while the reading ability of students in cycle II increased by 100% with very good categories in capable criteria. The application of Big Book learning media can improve students’ reading skills in class I at SDN 2 Bulango Utara, Bone Bolango Regency. The achievement of providing action from cycle I to cycle II researchers ended the meeting in cycle II third meeting because it had met the predetermined performance indicators of 80%.</em></p> Olyan S. This research used a qualitative descriptive method, the informants were one school principal, two educators and five students. This research is to find out about how the implementation of the independent curriculum at SDN 1 Telaga Biru. Several techniques were used in data collection, namely: a) Observation, b) Interview, c) Documentation. The results show that in the implementation of the independent curriculum there is more emphasis on substantive material and developing student competencies according to the stages. Therefore, learning with this independent curriculum is expected to be more in-depth, not rushed, more fun and meaningful. Thus, the implementation of the Independent Curriculum is more optimal even though it has only been implemented for one year.
