This tradition has been passed down from generation to generation as a form of gratitude to nature and its resources while representing the relationship between humans and the natural environment. Furthermore, it serves as a cultural identity for the coastal communities of West Java. However, the advancement of modernization, globalization, and the widespread influence of social media have generated social dynamics that affect both the meaning and implementation of the Larung Cai Diraga tradition. This study aims to analyze the social dynamics occurring within the Larung Cai Diraga tradition and to examine the preservation of local wisdom in contemporary society. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with an ethnographic approach. Data were collected through in-depth observations, interviews with traditional leaders, young generations, and local community members, as well as documentation of various Larung Cai Diraga activities. The findings indicate that the Larung Cai Diraga tradition has undergone a transformation from a sacred ritual into a more open and socially oriented cultural festival. Despite these changes, the community continues to preserve the cultural values embedded in the tradition, making it an important symbol of local cultural identity. The preservation of this tradition is supported through the active participation of local communities, regional governments, traditional leaders, artists, and younger generations. Therefore, the Larung Cai Diraga tradition functions not only as a cultural heritage but also as a medium through which society adapts to contemporary social changes.
2026-08-13T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Journal of Public Representative and Society Provision https://psppjournals.org/index.php/jprsp/article/view/877 Reinventing Leadership: Integrating Confucian Values into Modern Management 2026-01-20T13:15:18+07:00 Yasak Taufan 25935012@students.uii.ac.id Gilang Mukti Prabowo gilangmuktiprabowo69866@gmail.com Radikal Yuda Utama radikalyuda697@gmail.com
This systematic literature review examines how Confucian core values and principles can be integrated into modern management and leadership practices. The core Confucian virtues, ren (humanity/loving-kindness), yi (righteousness/justice), li (propriety/courtesy), zhi (wisdom), xin (trustworthiness), and xiao (filial piety) as well as principles such as hierarchical relationships, harmony, and leadership by example are examined for their relevance in today's organizational context. The review demonstrates that Confucian values align with modern concepts of people-oriented leadership and managerial ethics, which emphasize moral behavior, trust, and social harmony. Both in Asia and globally, the integration of Confucian principles has the potential to enhance managers' ethical self-regulation, build a people-oriented organizational culture, and positively impact team performance and harmony. However, successful integration requires aligning traditional values with contemporary norms to avoid potential pitfalls (e.g., balancing hierarchy and innovation). This study concludes that Confucian ethics offers timeless insights for reinventing leadership styles, providing guidance on benevolent leadership, moral education within organizations, and achieving sustainable performance through harmony. Recommendations for leaders include embodying Confucian moral role models, caring for the well-being of subordinates, incorporating ethics training, and integrating Confucian values with modern management practices.
2026-08-13T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Journal of Public Representative and Society Provision https://psppjournals.org/index.php/jprsp/article/view/1058 Strategies for Cultural Transmission at the Ngudi Utama Art Studio in the Preservation of the Buncisan Dance 2026-06-24T13:31:28+07:00 Anisa Mutiara Dani Iswari anisamutiaradaniiswari@gmail.com Malarsih Malarsih malarsih@mail.unnes.ac.id
This study aims to analyze the transmission strategies employed by the Ngudi Utama Art Studio in preserving the Buncisan Dance through the perspective of Pierre Bourdieu’s theory of cultural reproduction. As a non-formal educational institution that serves as a space for learning and developing the Buncisan Dance, the studio plays a strategic role in transmitting knowledge, technical skills, cultural values, and symbolic meanings embedded within the dance to younger generations. This study employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through participant observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed thematically by applying Bourdieu’s concepts of habitus, capital, and field to identify the mechanisms underlying the transmission strategies. The findings reveal that the transmission strategies implemented by the Ngudi Utama Art Studio reflect the process of cultural reproduction through consistent habituation, regular practice, the cultivation of artistic discipline, and active participation in Buncisan Dance performances. The resulting habitus is formed not only through the internalization of dance techniques but also through the development of a strong cultural identity. Cultural capital is manifested in technical skills and traditional knowledge, social capital is established through networks among artists and artistic communities, while symbolic capital emerges through recognition of the studio’s achievements. Meanwhile, the field functions as an arena in which various forms of capital are exchanged, negotiated, and reinforced. These findings highlight the importance of collaborative support among stakeholders and adaptive strategies in preserving the Buncisan Dance while maintaining its essential cultural values.
2026-08-13T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Journal of Public Representative and Society Provision
